OUR PASTOR

For more than twenty years, Rev. Johnson has been grateful for the call of ministry God has placed on his life. At the age of 14, Rev. Johnson began his service to the Lord as the musician for Oak Street A.M.E. Church. He has shared his gift of music with congregations throughout the city of Baltimore and abroad. Rev. Johnson has also served as musician for the Pauline Wells Lewis Legacy Mass Choir, Minister of Music for The Baltimore Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and is currently a member of the Baltimore Connection Choir and Music Director for the Baltimore City Police Department’s Adult Choir.

Upon accepting his call to ministry and preaching his initial sermon, Rev. Johnson was licensed on December 22, 1996 at First Christian Community Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Ernest Humphrey. After intensive study, he was ordained an Elder on November 21, 1997 and set apart to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. Johnson has served as Assistant Pastor of First Christian Community Baptist Church and Youth Pastor of Water’s A.M.E. Church; as well as Minister of Music. He is currently a candidate for the Master’s program at the United Baptist College and Seminary and a member of the United Baptist Pastor’s Conference of Baltimore & Vicinity.

Rev. Johnson is the Founder and Pastor of Word for Life Ministries which was established November 4, 2012.

OUR CHURCH

Word 4 Life Ministries is a fellowship of Baptized believers called together as a body to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Committed to the public worship of God, to inspire in all persons a love for Christ and their fellow man, a zest for righteousness and an awareness of their service to God through serving His people. As servants, we dedicate our lives to God through his son Jesus Christ and therefore enter into a sacred covenant relationship with God and one another, to show forth His spirit in our Worship, Witness, and Ministry toward the needs of the parishioners, the community and the body of Christ.
